Re-Roofing

For more before and after photos see our Facebook page

Is it time to upgrade your roof or change the appearance? Or has the roof just given up?

All roofs have a lifespan and at some stage will eventually need to be replaced.

Sometimes the reasons to replace your roof are obvious: leaks, water damage, rust and corrosion but sometimes these issues are just the ‘tip of the iceberg’ and problems such as dampness and mould can have serious health effects on you or your family.  Not to mention the deterioration of your home and possessions.

Perhaps your roof hasn’t failed but you’re looking  to change the design or look of your home with additions or alterations, you might want to replace a heavy-weight roof like concrete tiles with a light-weight metal option or an existing decramastic tile roof may contain Asbestos and be a risk to health and the environment.

When re-roofing it is essential to select a roofing contractor who knows the best products to suit your home, the surrounding environment and someone who you can rely on to undertake the contract to the highest standards so that your new roof will stand the test of time.

The Roofing Specialists Ltd can give you recommendations and advice on the best products & procedures to suit each individual home.

We offer free re-roof quotes for Homeowners, pre-purchase inspections incur a fee

FAQ's

Do you undertake repair work?
We honour our workmanship warranties however we don't undertake repairs.

What warranties do you provide?
As a member of the Roofing Association of New Zealand we provide a five year workmanship warranty on our work.
Material warranties differ depending on the product requested.  We only utilise products manufactured in New Zealand from NZ Steel, Pacific Coil Coaters and Gerard Roofs.
Please be aware that if you install Zincalume (Unpainted) material and then paint it or by installing some leaf protection systems or air-con units that involve screwing into the roof you may void the manufacturers warranty.  It is recommended that you check with our team before undertaking this work.

Do I need to Replace my Spouting/Gutters when Re-Roofing?
Quite often the existing spouting can remain as it is in an acceptable condition, we can provide separate quotes if necessary for replacement.

Why does your quote say 'No allowance for Council Permit?'
When Re-Roofing we can replace 'Like for Like' without a council permit.  Some districts require a permit when changing between light weight products (Tiles to Iron) whilst some don't.  If you're unsure, just give us or your local council a call.

What is the minimum pitch for products?
The minimum pitch for Gerard Metal Colortile is 12.5 degrees
The minimum pitch for Corrugate is 8 degrees, below this to 3 degrees we can use a Trapedoidal profile.
We cannot put profiled metal roofing below 3 degrees, we may be able to provide an alternative option for a membrane product for low pitched roof areas.

Do I need a builder to re-roof?
Sometimes yes but we can advise of this at the time of site visit or it will be noted in our quote.
Any timber purlins requiring replacement can be done by our team along with tile battens and Plywood for membrane.

Do you provide Scaffold/Edge Protection?
All contracts undertaken require Scaffold or Edge Protection.  Whilst the builder usually supplies this for New Builds, We include this in our Re-roofing quotes.  We have Designed and Certified our own Edge Fall Protection system, with an in-house installation team meaning we can meet time & cost constraints.
